This examines the likely policy-making process behind the Government’s forthcoming decisions on replacing Trident. It analyses the decisions that are required and a number of powerful factors that mitigate in favour of a status quo nuclear policy - factors that are unlikely to be openly discussed by the government. It then explores the policy-making process, the government departments involved and the difficulties that will be faced in holding the government to account for its decisions.

Portcullis House is above Westminster tube station. The entrance is round the corner on Embankment.
